  •  The Manali Leopard Trail Trek is a profound 8-day odyssey that transcends the boundaries of traditional mountaineering. It is a specialized expedition into the "Vertical Wilderness" of the Himachal Himalayas, designed specifically for those who seek an encounter with the most enigmatic predator on Earth: the Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia). This journey takes you beyond the commercial fringes of Manali and into the high-altitude sanctuaries of the Pir Panjal and Great Himalayan Ranges, where the silence is absolute and the landscape is dictated by the rhythm of the wild.

Age Requirement :
  • Minimum Age: 9 years Above
  • Experience: Having past experience of trekking surely helps. If the participants have any medical condition, it is highly recommended to be consulted by doctor and also please inform us beforehand so we can arrange the logistics accordingly.
Fitness Criteria
  • The Trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance by jogging in 35 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance in 80 minutes without stress.
  • If the trekker wants to carry a backpack then he/she should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack. If opting for Off-load option then the trekker should be able to carry a 3-5 kg backpack.
  • If a trekker's BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-29), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

How to Reach

Pick-Up Information

By Air:Nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali Airport), approximately 50 km from Manali. From Bhuntar airport, hire a taxi to reach Manali (approximately 1.5 hours).
By Taxi:Private taxis are available from Delhi, Chandigarh, and other nearby cities directly to Manali.
From Manali:Trek begins from Manali. Your trek leader will guide you to the starting point of the trail toward Bhalu Kao on Day 1.

:Take a train to Pathankot or Chandigarh railway station.

By Bus:

Direct Volvo and HRTC buses are available from Delhi ISBT to Manali (approximately 14 hours overnight journey).Buses are also available from Chandigarh and other nearby cities to Manali

Journey Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival at Manali
Arrive at Manali, meet your trek leader and fellow trekkers. Trek briefing and equipment check. Overnight at guesthouse in Manali.
Day 2
Manali to Bhalu Kao
You will trek approximately 12 km (approximately 6-7 hours) from Manali through dense deodar and oak forests to reach Bhalu Kao campsite.
Day 3
Bhalu Kao to Thulo Kutal
You will trek approximately 10 km (approximately 5-6 hours) through open alpine meadows and wildlife-rich terrain to reach Thulo Kutal.
Day 4
Rest Day at Thulo Kutal
Rest and acclimatization day at Thulo Kutal. Explore surrounding area for snow leopard sightings and spot Himalayan blue sheep and other wildlife.
Day 5
Thulo Kutal to Pinni Rangrik
You will trek approximately 9 km (approximately 5-6 hours) through high-altitude terrain and rocky paths to reach Pinni Rangrik.
Day 6
Pinni Rangrik to Pinni Guhali
You will trek approximately 8 km (approximately 4-5 hours) through remote wilderness and scenic mountain trails to reach Pinni Guhali.
Day 7
Pinni Guhali to Rumbak
You will trek approximately 9 km (approximately 5-6 hours) continuing through wildlife-rich areas to reach Rumbak.
Day 8
Rumbak to Leh (Drive)
You will trek to the road head and drive approximately 70 km (approximately 2-3 hours) to reach Leh. Trek concludes.
