The Amarnath Yatra is a profoundly spiritual journey that embodies the essence of devotion and faith, taking pilgrims through the breathtaking landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir to the revered Amarnath Cave, one of the most significant pilgrimage sites for followers of Lord Shiva. This six-day, five-night journey begins in Srinagar or Jammu, winding its way through the picturesque town of Phalgam, and then onwards to Chandanwari, the starting point of the trek to the sacred cave. As pilgrims ascend to the Sheshnag camp, they are enveloped in a sacred atmosphere, surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and the serene waters of the Sheshnag Lake.
The trek to the Amarnath Cave is a challenging yet exhilarating experience, with the promise of spiritual fulfillment and the thrill of witnessing the naturally formed ice Shivalinga, which bears an uncanny resemblance to Lord Shiva. According to legend, this cave holds immense spiritual significance, for it is here that Lord Shiva shared the secret of life and eternity with Goddess Parvati, making it a site of great reverence and awe. The cave is only accessible during the Sharavan months of July and August, and pilgrims can choose to reach it via the Baltal or Pahalgam routes, with the added convenience of helicopter services now available.
As pilgrims make their way to the Amarnath Cave, they are immersed in an atmosphere of devotion and spirituality, with the sound of chanting and prayer filling the air. The key temples and shrines along the way, such as the Sheshnag Temple and the Panchtarni Temple, serve as important milestones on this sacred journey, offering pilgrims a chance to pay their respects and seek blessings. The Amarnath Yatra is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one that allows pilgrims to connect with their inner selves, and to experience the divine presence of Lord Shiva in the majestic beauty of the Himalayas. Journey Itinerary

Day 1

Once you arrive at Srinagar airport or Jammu Railway Station, a representative of Pilgrim Packages India will receive you with a warm welcome. He will drive you to Pahalgam.

Day 2

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Our representative will drive you to Chandanwari, which is a great base for trekking. From there, you will start your trek to Sheshnag (13 km).

Day 3

Start your day with a trek from Sheshnag to Panchtarni (around 12 km). The trek goes through Mahagunas Pass and then a gradual climb to Panchtarni. From there, it’s a short 6 km trek to Amarnath ca | Day 3: Sheshnag - Panchtarni - Amarnath - Panchtarni

Day 4

Wake up early for the final leg of the trek to Amarnath Holy Cave (3953 m). It’s a special place for Hindus, and many come here during full moon days. Afterward, begin your descent towards Baltal, a 4-hour walk.

Day 5

After breakfast, leave Baltal and drive to Srinagar. On the way, stop by Manasbal Lake or Kheer Bawani Temple (extra cost). If you prefer, you can head straight to Srinagar.

Day 6

Have a hearty breakfast in the hotel and check out of the hotel. The representative of Pilgrim Packages India will drop you off at the airport to board your flight home.
