Mathura Vrindavan Pilgrimage
Overview
Beyond Pilgrimage
- The Mathura Vrindavan Pilgrimage is a deeply soul-stirring journey to the divine land of Lord Krishna — the twin cities of Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, situated on the sacred banks of the Yamuna River. Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, is one of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and is home to the magnificent Krishna
- Janmabhoomi Temple, built on the exact spot where the lord was born.
- The city is alive with the spirit of Krishna Bhakti, with hundreds of temples, ghats, and ashrams resonating with bhajans and kirtans at all hours. Just 15 kilometres from Mathura lies Vrindavan — the sacred forest where young Krishna played, danced the Raas Leela with the Gopis, and performed his divine leelas.
- Vrindavan is home to some of the most magnificent and ancient temples in India, including the Banke Bihari Temple, the Radha Raman Temple, the ISKCON Temple, the Prem Mandir, and the Madan Mohan Temple. The Prem Mandir, built entirely of white Italian marble with intricate carvings depicting the life of Lord Krishna, is one of the most breathtaking temples in the country.
- The 5-kilometre Yamuna parikrama and the Vrindavan parikrama are deeply sacred rituals performed by devotees. The entire atmosphere of Mathura-Vrindavan is soaked in divine love and bhakti, making this pilgrimage an unforgettable spiritual experience.
