Chadar Trek

Beyond Adventure

  • Chadar Trek is one of the most extraordinary and unique trekking experiences in the world, a winter journey on the frozen surface of the Zanskar River that winds through one of the deepest and most spectacular gorges in the Himalayan world. The word ""chadar"" means ""sheet"" or ""blanket"" in Hindi, referring to the sheet of ice that forms on the river's surface during the deepest winter months of January and February, creating a natural walking surface that serves as the only accessible route into the remote Zanskar Valley when all other passes are buried under deep snow. This trek is not merely a physical adventure; it is a journey into a world of extraordinary natural beauty and cultural isolation that exists entirely on its own terms.
