Chulu West Peak Climbing

Beyond Adventure

  • Chulu West Peak Climbing is a serious and magnificent high-altitude mountaineering expedition in the Manang district of Nepal, offering climbers the challenge of ascending a genuine Himalayan peak to an elevation of 6,419 meters while being surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. The peak stands in the Annapurna Conservation Area and is part of the Chulu range, a sub-range of the Annapurna Himalaya that offers several trekking peaks of varying difficulty. Chulu West is considered one of the more technically demanding of the Nepal trekking peaks, requiring genuine mountaineering skills including glacier travel, crampon and ice axe technique, and the ability to function effectively at extreme altitude.

How to Reach

Options to Reach

Flexible travel choices

For travelers coming to Nepal, you have two options to reach Pokhara. Flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara take only 25minutes. Flight duration from Kathmandu to Pokhara and other airports in Nepal depend on weather condition. From Pokhara, it's a 4-5 hours drive to Besishahar where the expedition begins. Travelers can hire a private car from Pokhara to Besishahar. It is always recommended to drive slowly and with caution through these Himalayan roads as they can be narrow, winding, and hilly. If you are an adventure-seeker, you can ride a motorbike through these beautiful Himalayan trails with breathtaking views of the mountains. For the second option, take an overnight bus from Kathmandu to Besi Shahar (which is 7-8 hours long), and get off at Bulbule and trek from there. For reaching Manang and Koto, there are public and private mini-buses which depart frequently from Besisahar. From Manang to Koto, you can take a taxi or a motorbike, depending on your budget and preference. Travelers will pass through the scenic villages and hamlets of the Manang district, making the journey a part of the adventure itself.
