Minimum Age 12 - 60 years
Experience Previous trekking experience recommended, but not mandatory. Nature lovers, birdwatchers, adventure enthusiasts, and individuals with a moderate to high level of physical fitness.
Fitness Good physical fitness required, with a moderate to high level of endurance. Individuals with medical conditions such as heart problems, high blood pressure, and joint issues are advised to consult a doctor before embarking on the trek.
Fitness Criteria
1. The individual must be capable of jogging continuously for at least 20–30 minutes at a steady pace without frequent breaks, extreme breathlessness, or discomfort. Heart rate and breathing should return to near normal within a few minutes after stopping.
2. The individual should be able to cycle continuously for 30–60 minutes on flat or mildly uneven terrain without severe exhaustion, knee pain, or breathing distress.
3. The individual should be able to carry a backpack weighing approximately 20–25% of their body weight for 1–2 hours while walking, without experiencing shoulder strain, back pain, or imbalance.
4. Participants are generally required to have a BMI between 18.5 and 29.9 to be considered fit for trekking, as this range is commonly accepted for managing endurance, load carrying, and altitude-related strain during treks.

The trek starts from Harshil, which is accessible by bus or taxi from Rishikesh or Dehradun. You can also take a taxi or bus from Rishikesh or Dehradun to Sersi village, from where the trek begins.

Kids Guidelines

Children between 12 and 18 years can join the trek, but must be accompanied by a parental or guardian consent.

Children under 12 years are not recommended for this trek due to the high altitude and challenging terrain. Parents are advised to consult a doctor before bringing children along.

The trek is not suitable for children with medical conditions or special needs. Please ensure that your child is physically fit and has some basic trekking experience before joining the trek.

A kid-friendly guide will be provided to accompany your child throughout the trek. Please note that the trek operator has the right to refuse participation of any child if deemed unsuitable for the trek.
