Fitness Good physical fitness is necessary. No severe medical conditions, infants and pregnant women must avoid .
Fitness Criteria
1. The individual must be capable of jogging continuously for at least 20–30 minutes at a steady pace without frequent breaks, extreme breathlessness, or discomfort. Heart rate and breathing should return to near normal within a few minutes after stopping.
2. The individual should be able to carry a backpack weighing approximately 20–25% of their body weight for 1–2 hours while walking, without experiencing shoulder strain, back pain, or imbalance.
3. The person must be physically capable of sustained cycling activity, demonstrating cardiovascular fitness, lower-body strength, and controlled breathing.
4. A BMI within the range of 18.5 to below 30 is typically required for trekking activities, with the expectation that individuals outside this range may face increased physical stress and may not be permitted on moderate to difficult treks.

The nearest domestic airport is Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla (2,860m/9,380ft). You can fly to Lukla from Kathmandu on a small propeller plane. Alternatively, you can take a bus or taxi to Jiri and then trek to Lukla. Once in Lukla, you'll begin your trek, which follows the valley floor, passing through villages and scenic landscapes. The trekking trails can vary depending on the season and weather, and your guide or tour operator will provide you with detailed information on the trails and necessary gear. Along the way, you'll stop at teahouses and lodges, where you can rest, eat, and rejuvenate. The Everest Region Treks offer breathtaking views of the Himalayas, but it's essential to be prepared and flexible to make the most out of this adventure. Bring layers of clothing, sturdy hiking boots, and essential gear like a first-aid kit and sun protection. The trek is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and being prepared will make all the difference. For those who want to avoid the crowds, consider trekking during the shoulder season, which falls between April and May or September and November. This allows you to witness the beauty of the Himalayas without the peak-season crowds.

Journey Itinerary

Day 01
Arrive in Lukla and spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude. Short walks around the village help the body adjust before beginning the trek.
Day 02
Begin the trek with a gradual descent toward Phakding, following the Dudh Koshi River through small settlements and suspension bridges.
Day 03
Continue along the river valley before a steady climb leads to Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub of the Everest region.
Day 04
Spend the day acclimatizing with short hikes to higher viewpoints, aiding altitude adaptation while enjoying views of surrounding peaks.
Day 05
Trek through forested trails and ridgelines to reach Tengboche, home to the famous monastery and panoramic Himalayan views.
Day 06
Ascend gradually through alpine terrain to Dingboche, with increasingly open mountain landscapes.
Day 07
Take a rest day with short elevation hikes to help the body adjust to higher altitude.
Day 08
Continue the ascent over rocky terrain toward Lobuche, surrounded by high Himalayan peaks.
Day 09
Proceed toward Everest Base Camp or hike to Kala Patthar for close views of Mount Everest and surrounding giants.
Day 10
Begin the descent to Pheriche, retracing sections of the trail.
Day 11
Continue descending through familiar valleys back to Namche.
Day 12
Descend further along the Dudh Koshi valley toward Phakding.
Day 13
Complete the final ascent back to Lukla, marking the end of the trekking portion.
Day 14
Fly back to Kathmandu or continue onward travel, concluding the expedition.

Kids Guidelines
