Gaumukh Tapovan Trek

Beyond Adventure

  • Gaumukh Tapovan Trek is a journey of profound spiritual and natural significance in the Garhwal Himalaya of Uttarakhand, leading trekkers to two of the most sacred and scenically magnificent destinations in the Indian mountains. Gaumukh, the cow's mouth-shaped glacier snout from which the holy Bhagirathi River emerges to begin its long journey across the plains of India as the Ganga, is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Hindu tradition. Tapovan, the high meadow above the glacier, is a place of legendary beauty and spiritual power where sadhus have meditated for centuries in the shadow of Shivling, one of the most beautiful and technically challenging peaks in the entire Himalaya.
