Upper Mustang Trek in Nepal | Young Guns Trekkers

Upper Mustang Trek

Beyond Adventure

  • The Upper Mustang Trek is a journey into the forbidden kingdom of Lo, a high-altitude desert that remains one of the last bastions of pure Tibetan culture on earth. For centuries, this region was closed to outsiders, creating a time-capsule of human civilization hidden behind the rain-shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs. To walk through Upper Mustang is not merely to trek through a landscape, but to travel through time into a world of medieval fortifications, ancient monasteries, and a geology so surreal it feels like another planet. The region is characterized by its stark, wind-eroded cliffs, deep canyons, and a palette of ochre, red, and brown earth that stands in sharp contrast to the deep blue Himalayan sky.
